1. What is Booze-Clues.com?

Hello, and welcome from your friendly neighborhood liquor store locator. It is our mission to make finding booze as easy and hassle free as possible. Just put in your name, address, or city in the search bar in the top right, and we'll give you all the stores in your area. From there you can filter though them to find anything from currently open stores to ping ping balls.

2. How can I register?

In order to make sure our data is reliable, we require our users to register before adding or rating a store. All you have to do is click the tab in the top left that says "Log In/Sign Up." From there, just fill out the form under "Register." We ask for your email to make sure that you are who you say you are. We promise not to send any emails beyond the confirmation email, nor to give away or sell any of your information.

3. Do I have to register just to see the stores in my area?

Absolutely not. You are free to come and go as you please. Registration will allow you to add or rate a store, post in our message board, and create a profile.

4. Why are there two different store types on the maps page?

The main type of store we show, as represented by the bottle icons, are the stores that our members have added to our database. These stores carry all the information our members have given it, including ratings, comments, and a general description. You can see more detailed information for each of these stores by clicking "details" after you have selected it on the map.

The other type of store, as represented by the normal Google marker, are stores that have yet to be added to our database. We use Google's local search (Thanks Google!) to make it easy for you to find new stores to rate. Unfortunately, until they are added by one of our members, they carry no information besides where they are located.

5. Why do registered members have a "proof." What is that?

Proof is the Booze-Clues scoring system. For each store you add, you gain 3 proof. For each store you rate, you gain 1 proof. People with a high proof have been scientifically shown to be more handsome, charming, and overall better human beings than those with a low proof.

6. What is the drawing system? I can actually win things by rating or adding stores?

In addition to your overall proof, we also track your monthly proof. Each point of proof you have represents a drawing ticket, from which you might win shirts, hats, ipods, TVs, and whatever else we think of to give away. If your monthly proof is three times as large as your friends, then you are three times more likely to win our drawing. Drawings are held on the first of each month, and announced at midday.
